Joseph Davey Joined: May 2009 Status: Children 1 Born: 2000 Parents: Peter and Liz Short Biography: Joseph started skiing aged 3 and joined his Cranmore school ski team aged 6 and then Sandown Race Squad in May 2009, winning the Minis race at the Sandown championships in June 2009 and June 2010. Joseph has represented his school in both SATIPS & ESSKIA races and in 2010 came overall 1st in the under 11's at the SATIPS races at Hemel Snow Dome. Joseph also came 2nd in the Hemel Nationals in April 2010 in the mini 2 category and won the Aldershot LSERSA race in September 2010 and the Surrey Schools Championships (mini 2) in October 2010. On snow Joseph has competed at the British Schools Championships at Les Houches for the past 3 years scoring a fourth place in 2009 and a third place in 2011. Joseph also competed in the British championships in April 2011 scoring a best finish of 10th. On plastic George has represented his school in both SATIPS & ESSKIA races for the past 3 years and was pleased to have been on the winning team taking 3rd and 2nd place in the SATIPS in 2009 & 2010 respectively. On snow George has competed in the English & the British Championships Minis Races for the past 2 years. Robert Fail Joined: 2006 Status: Junior 2 Born: 1993 Parents: Pauline and John Short Biography: To date, Robert's major successes have been as part of the Hampton School team which won the British Schoolboys Open Championship on snow in 2006 and the English School's U16 title on plastic in 2005. He was also a member of the English School's training squad in Norway in 2006. Robert first put on 'skis' at the age of 2, although he didn't really start skiing until the age of 4. He started racing on plastic at the age of 9, first with Bracknell and then Aldershot ski race clubs. He joined Sandown at the end of 2005 in order to concentrate on snow racing. As well as racing he enjoys free skiing, tricks, and in particular big jumps. Robert also enjoys many other sports including badminton, rugby and cricket.

George Harris Joined: 2000 Status: Junior 2 (Club Rep) Born: 1992 Parents: John (long suffering dad) and Jaqui Short Biography: George has skied ever since he could walk and first learnt how to ski in Val d'Isere. He regularly attends many of the race and training camps organized by Sandown and, whilst he has had success in the past on the dry slope (he came second overall in the regional races in 2005), prefers being in the mountains and racing on the snow. George is a bit of a free spirit and whilst he enjoys his ski racing he also wants to ski off piste and perform tricks wherever he can!! He is also a member of the very successful Reeds School ski team who came first at the British Schoolboys in 2006. His father, John, is one of the coach's at Sandown.

James Sieber Joined: 2004 Status: Junior 1 - Social Member Born: 1996 Parents: Val and Ray Short Biography: James Sieber started skiing aged 4 and joined Sandown when he was 8. In 2005 he came 3rd in the Mini GS race at the British Championships in Meribel and in 2006 he gained silver medals in both the GS and Dual Slalom at the British International Schoolboys races. In 2008 he came 3rd in the Children 1 Giant Slalom at the Schoolboys with Reeds and again in 2009. In 2009, 2010 and 2011 with Reeds he won the Bristish Schoolboys Open Schools Team Cup as well as placing himself in all those years in a discipline. On the dry slopes he has had numerous podium placings in Grand Prix, National and Regional dry slope races and came 2nd in Children 1 in the 2007 European Dry Slope Championships. He has come 1st overall in his age category in the LSERSA 2006, 2007 and 2008 series.He is the 2010 Bristish Schools Artificial Slope Champion and the 2011 English School Artificial slope Champion and has been part of the winning Reeds Open Team at the ESSKIA Finals in 2011. He lives in West Clandon in Surrey and attends Reeds School.

Peter Edwin Whelan Joined: 1999 Status: Senior - Honorary Member Born: 1989 Parents: Kay and John Short Biography: Peter learned to ski on plastic at the age of 8 and did not set a 'ski' on snow until 18 months later. Soon after joining the club Peter attended the first ever SPR snow camp in 1999 and the following year won his first ever snow title, British Mini Champion at the Easter Championships held in Pitztal. This was followed by 4 successive years as a member of the British Children's team.. As a junior Peter spent 2 years with the national development team before selection to British Alpine team in 2006 for 3 years, where he won numerous British titles and achieved the world junior ranking of 7th in Downhill. Peter's first senior year although still a member of the national team saw a change in direction, moving over to Ski Cross, finishing last season in the top 20 europa cup standings, best result 5th at Val Torens in March. This season 2010/11 Peter now part of the British SX team will be competing in both EC and WC races around the world and time permitting hopes to also compete in a few Downhill races in europe. Robbie Willis Joined: November 2007 Status: Junior 1 Born: 1996 Parents: Jane and Tony Short Biography: Robbie started skiing at the age of four on family ski holidays in Val Thorens and St. Anton. He went with his sister on a number of ski camps and joined Sandown in September 2007 as a CH1 YR1. He competed in the BARSC, English, British and Scottish races that season. He joined Hampton School in September 2009 and is a member of their ski team. His team reached the National finals in the ESSKIA series of artificial slope races in November 2009 and he attended ESSKIA squad training in Geilo, Norway in February 2010. He also skied for Hampton at the Schoolboys' races in Meiringen in January 2010 and in 2011 his team won Silver for Best British Based School Team - Children". His best race result this season (2010-2011) was at the BARSC Championships in Champaluc, Italy where came 5th on the second slalom run. He has been selected to join Team England Alpine Ski Team for the 2011-2012 season and will attend his first camp with them in August 2011.
