Jo Jo Carew Joined: 2004 Status: Junior 2 Born: 1993 Parents: Sarah and Patrick Short Biography: Jojo started skiing at the age of three and joined Sandown when she was 10. Since then Jojo has taken part in all the Swiss and French training/race camps run by Sandown to improve and perfect her technique. Her hard work resulted in 6th position in her age group for GS at the British races this year. In October 2005, Jojo joined her brother in Dublin for the Irish Championships and won 3rd place in Children 1 Girls. Ski-racing is her favourite sport but Jojo also enjoys netball, tennis and cricket. She attends St. Paul's Girls' School in Hammersmith.

Caroline Corrigan Joined: November 2011 Status: Mini Born: 2002 Parents: Jeffrey and Genevieve Short Biography: Caroline started skiing at the age of two while on family holiday in her parents' native Canada. Since then, Caroline has skied in various alpine and Canadian resorts. Favourites include Zermatt in Switzerland and Mont Orford in Quebec. Caitlin Davey Joined: May 2010 Status: Children 2 Born: 1997 Parents: Peter and Liz Short Biography: Caitlin's first trip to the snow was when she was only a few weeks old although she didn't start skiing until she was 3! When her brother started skiing with Cranmore school at Sandown she joined in too as the school are happy to allow siblings to tag along. Caitlin has had great success in the Cranmore Grand Prix races where she has won the girls race on many an occasion, often beating the times of some of the boys in The Cranmore race squad! Caitlin has just joined SPSRC and is looking forward to participating in the snow camps and Sunday Morning Fitness sessions. (Last updated June 2010)

Hanne Davis Joined: 2001 Status: Senior - Social Member Born: 1988 Parents: Margaret and Christian Short Biography: Hanne started skiing with her parents at 18 months, and after skiing regularly and competing in many ESF races, she began training and racing on the British circuit aged 12. She has worked hard throughout the children categories, having to compete against others who had been racing for years before her, and on entry to junior level became a member of the Irish Ski Team, representing her Country at the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2005. Most recently she raced with Helena Bray and Alex Emerton at the British Schoolgirls races, going on to win the overall team prize and individually placing 10th in the GS. Sadly, because of A Level exams Hanne had to miss the Easter races in 2005 and 2006, but she hopes on entry to university to join the ski team and keep up her training and racing as well as studying.

Kirsty Dixon Joined: 2000 Status: Junior 2 Born: 1992 Parents: Sue and Nigel Short Biography: Kirsty learned to ski on the dry slope at Sandown aged 6 and then practiced her snow skills on family holidays and trips to Saas Fee before she was selected to join SPSRC aged 8. She has attended nearly all Sandown training and race camps since then. Kirsty won individual gold in Slalom and GS at the 2005 DHO Xmas Championships in Wengen. She is a member of the Lady Eleanor Holles School team who were overall champions at the British Schoolgirls Championships in 2005 and 2006. Kirsty is a member of the ESSKIA squad both on plastic and snow; she was in the winning U16 LEH School Team at the 2004/5 ESSKIA Dry Slope championships. The LEH team was also the overall ESSKIA English and British School champions in 2005. She has attended the ESSKIA snow camps in Norway for the past two years.

Emilia Drury Joined: May 2009 Status: Mini Born: 2002 Parents: Karen & Paul Short Biography: Emilia (Mia) has been skiing in La Clusaz France since she could walk and was delighted to join her brother Henry at Sandown. Emilia enjoys most sports, She loves figure skating, and has enjoyed performing in ice shows in Guildford and Abu Dhabi where the family now live. She also enjoys swimming and is currently training for her Black Belt in Karate. Emilia recently achieved third fastest in the Dubai senior girls club race. although she says would prefer to train at Sandown with Kevin and is looking forward to catching up with her fellow Sandowners' in the summer! Rebecca Duggan Joined: 2001 Status: Senior Born: 1989 Parents: Rachel and Alan Short Biography: Rebecca began skiing at Sandown's dry ski slope at the age of 5. Her potential was spotted by coach Kevin Blanks, who suggested a trial for SPSRC and she was the 1st ever child to join a race camp having never skied on snow! Rebecca went on to win the U14 SATIPS race in 2001, she has since competed in Europe at the BARCS races, Scottish Championships, British Land Championships and most recently in Panorama Canada FIS races 2005. Rebecca attends Tormead School in Guildford.

Alice MacAulay Joined: 2006 Status: Junior 1 Born: 1995 Parents: Chris and Peter Short Biography: Alice's first trip to the snow was at 12 weeks old! She started skiing at 3 and shortly after joining Sandown achieved 8th position in the mini girls section at the British Championships in Meribel in 2006. Alice has been a member of the GB Children's team in 2007/8, 2008/9 and 2009/10. In March '10 Alice went to Folgaria to the ISF World Championships with ESSKIA. Then at the Inter Schools Races in Flaine Alice won both Slalom and Giant Slalom in CH II. She helped Surbiton High School win many trophies. She has been selected onto the British Alpine Junior Team as well as being offered a place on the England Alpine Junior Team. Louise Thomas Joined: 1995 Status: Senior Born: 1988 Parents: Anne and Peter Short Biography: I started skiing at the age of 3 but didn't start racing until children 1 first year. I gained immediate selection to the British children's team for four successive years. In 2003 I went to the children's world championships in Topolino, Italy where I finished 36th. Also in 2003 I won the GS British Schoolgirls and at the BARSC. In 2004 I won the British schoolgirls slalom and overall title. I also made my debut on the FIS racing scene and gained selection to the England 'A' squad. In 2005 I gained my first podium finishes in FIS races and again won the British Schoolgirls title. I also went to the European youth olympics where I finished 19th overall. Most recently in 2006 I won the British Junior championship title, which has been one of my most pleasing results to date. I enjoy almost all sport and recently finished my two year A-level course at Reeds School to embark on my full time training programme.
